Robert studied Machine Engineering in high school after which he enrolled in Machine University of Czech Republic. By this time he had started to play in several bands. After graduating from the Prague Art school as a piano major, he enrolled in Jezek's Conservatory, majoring in Music Composition.
Shortly after that Robert started to release albums with the various record companies in Prague and wrote his first film scores.
In 1996, after a couple of scores, he began to attend Berklee College of Music in Boston, USA, majoring in Film Scoring. By 1999 he had successfully finished his studies and returned to Prague.
One of Robert's first major projects is the score for the motion picture "Not Too Little, Not Too Much" featuring the famous Boni Pueri Boys Choir. He composed numerous soundtracks since, worked with Talich Quartet, Slovenian TV and Radio Orchestra and others. At present, Robert is working on new CD series of classical music, ballet show and film scores.
Robert Jíša
Robert Jisa was born on April 9, 1970 in the Holesovice quarter of Prague. Both his parents were musicians -his mother a classical guitar teacher and his father playing piano and other keyboards. He wanted to be an aircraft pilot but from the age of five he was strongly encouraged to play piano and learn music theory.
